This most popular and ‘must-do’ cycling holiday with its quiet country lanes, cycleways and paths is a wonderful way to see the varied and beautiful landscapes of northern England, on the National Cycle Network route from the Irish Sea across to the North Sea.

After dipping our back wheel in the sea at Whitehaven, we head eastwards into the solitude and space of the Lake District, Cumbria and the North Pennines. The cycling holiday is well-paced and ends 140 miles later as we cross the fabulous millennium bridge in Newcastle before reaching Tynemouth.

Our base in Stanley, Co.Durham is our rendezvous point for you Coast to Coast ride. We have first class road, rail, ferry and air connections so getting here is easy. From our base we have an early morning minibus transfer to Whitehaven for your first days ride traveling through the stunning scenery of the northern Lake District and heading into Keswick.
Over the next few days your cycling takes you through through Penrith and the Eden Valley with its lush valleys and sandstone villages. It then starts the climb up to Hartside and onto the unspoilt Northern Pennines - the roof of England. There then follows an undulating ride as the C2C meanders through old lead mining villages, such as Nenthead and Rookhope, and down into the Durham Dales before entering the old steel town of Consett. From here it's an easy ride through one of Britain's old industrial heartlands alongside the River Tyne and finishing at Tynemouth.
You will be met at Tynemouth on the Friday afternoon and transferred back to our base in Stanley or dropped off at a station or airport convenient to yourself.
